I've replaced 2 now. One in a rental and one at home

Both were Insinkerators. The coupling that gets installed to the sink is universal. I didn't have to replace either of them. They just twist right on the old one. When I replaced the one in my home, I upgraded to a unit with more HP - because, why not?? Well that was a mistake b/c that unit was bigger (larger diameter) and wouldn't fit within the framework of my existing plumbing. returned it and replaced the disposal with the same HP as the old one and no issues.
